Shipping

When I am notified that you purchased something, I may send you a quick email message letting you know when I will get it in the mail.  I will try my best to ship it within 24 hours whenever possible.  Due to my teaching schedule it may be longer but you will be notified with tracking information once the order has shipped.  If and order is received on Saturday or Sunday it will most likely go out Monday morning. 

Domestic (Contiguous United States)

    I ship via USPS Priority.  The shipping cost is $10 for the first item and $5 for each additional item. This is an estimated shipping. If you are ordering a large item or several items select calculate exact shipping at checkout. You will receive a separate invoice for the exact shipping cost. This will delay your order as it will not ship until the second invoice has been paid.

  If you absolutely cannot wait and need it overnight. I can arrange express shipping and will send a separate invoice for the express shipping cost.  Please contact me BEFORE your purchase if you need express shipping to be sure I have the availability for such a service. 

International

     For international orders and orders to Alaska and Hawaii, please contact me BEFORE purchasing.

Local Pickup

Local pickup is available for fellow Chicagoland residents. You can pick up an order at my home in Villa Park or at Terra Incognito in Oak Park. Be sure to contact me BEFORE ordering to arrange a pickup day and time.

Packaging and Insurance

    I do not pay the shipper for insurance.  My plan is to pack the work so that there is virtually no chance of breakage, and then if something does break, I will refund or replace it at MY expense.  I have found it very difficult  to actually get insurance payments from shipping companies and don't want to waste anyone's time. 

    I package the work very neatly and completely. The work will be wrapped in brand new wrapping paper, then covered in bubble wrap and surrounded by a layer of packing peanuts.  I use only brand new packing materials, except I may reuse packing peanuts but only if they are clean.  You will not find gross things like cigarette smoke, dust, old shopping bags, newspaper, etc. in my packaging.  Just your order and the materials to get it to you safely.  I often include a postcard but no printed invoice or receipt.  I am happy to write out a message on the postcard if the item is a gift for someone, just send me a message with your order

Returns

    I want you to feel comfortable when placing an order.  I offer returns in a few situations.  If the item arrives broken, cracked or chipped from shipping I will replace it or refund the item.  If the item is flawed in some way, I will replace or refund the item at my cost.  I will then either pay for the return shipment of the flawed item or ask you to destroy it.  This is unlikely as I inspect everything several times and package well, but nonetheless, things can happen and I want you to know that I will make it right. 

    If you purchase an item and decide that it isn't the right piece for you, please let me know right away.   I will have you ship it back to me at your expense, and I can then ship you another one at my expense, or refund your money, whichever works best for the situation. 

    I am happy to take returns.  My main goal here is to get my work into the hands of happy customers, and I will do whatever it takes within reason to keep you, my customer, happy.
